The Crimson Princess turned and ran out.
The Scarlet Queen hid her surprise. "Aren't you going after my daughter?"
"I'd like you to play Elizabeth." Annan made no move to follow her. He handed the Scarlet Queen a new script. "Dracula and Elizabeth's story takes up only a small part of it. Your daughter is still the heroine. No one will steal her scenes."
"And this will put the rumors that you haven't awakened to rest."
The Scarlet Queen had not appeared in public. She had refused every Invitation Letter and visitor, even turning away the Blood Council. Rumors that she had not actually awakened were spreading, but no one knew what to make of the situation. With the Skeleton King appearing outside the Manor from time to time, everything remained shrouded in mystery.
The wildest rumor claimed that Annan had enslaved the Stuart Family...
"So you're doing all this for me?" The Scarlet Queen sounded amused.
"There's also a tiny selfish reason..." Annan lowered his head shyly.
The Scarlet Queen looked at the script Annan held out to her. At last, she took it.
"My knight wants to be my father!"
The Crimson Princess had run back to her bedroom to pour her heart out to Lucy.
"You must have misunderstood..."
Lucy was bewildered, but the thought of Annan and Her Majesty together... That was impossible.
"But I heard him say he wanted my mother!"
Lucy gave her an odd look. "Are you sure that's what he said?"
"It was something like that!"
Seeing the guilty look on her princess's face, Lucy had a fair idea of what had happened. "There must be some misunderstanding... Shall I ask him for you?"
