Before taking the Three Archmages out, Annan summoned the Apprentice Devils from the Devil Notary Office and had them prepare Beludona's Devil Contracts.
The contracts were between Annan and the Three Archmages. Their souls would belong to Annan, and they would help him deal with Nanako, the Legendary Red Dragon Sorcerer. Once the job was done, Annan would return their freedom.
"Lord Annan, should we add a few tricks to the contracts...?"
Claire and German were working diligently, but Lias slipped over to ask Annan. She knew ten thousand ways to bury traps in a contract...
"No. The three Archmages are smart. Petty tricks like that would only make them look down on me."
As soon as he finished speaking, Black Widow cast an amused, alluring glance their way.
"You really are a good human..." Lias said with a sigh.
A good person?
Annan said nothing. He quietly watched the contracts being completed, then put them away. When the victims came knocking, he could hand over the contracts and wash his hands of the matter.
As for the Prisoners still in the Dungeon, Annan couldn't be bothered to meet them. He left them to the three Apprentice Devils to sign contracts with.
Most of High Mountain City's Prisoners were Professionals. The contracts they offered should give the Apprentice Devils a hearty meal.
Annan led the Three Archmages out of the Dungeon. Standing outside, they all squinted in the brilliant sunlight.
Sunlight fell over them, and for a moment, they felt like free people.
