A demon's dictionary didn't contain the word "hesitation." It didn't even have a dictionary.
When they spotted a human, they stared for a moment, trying to work out whether the figure in the stone was human or demon. Then they roared in Demon Tongue and charged.

A Fireball shot out from deep within the cave and burst against the demon's broad back. The impact hurled it into Brino Jana, making it look as though it had shielded her.
Brino Jana narrowed her eyes, trying to make out the approaching figure by the Fireball's fading light.
"I'm not too late, am I?"
"You're... Annan?"
Annan took out a Magic Lamp. Seeing Brino Jana's face covered in demon blood, he let out a long breath. "It's good to see you here..."
"How did you end up here?" Annan asked, puzzled.
Brino Jana snapped, "I saw you and thought you needed help, so I tried to get closer. Then I got caught up in whatever happened to you and was teleported here too... Cough, cough..."
Her violent coughing came with a strange, wheezing rattle.
Annan raised the Magic Lamp and stared at her chest. "Are you hurt?"
