Brino Jana studied the Girl. "How do you know that's the Gate of Hell?"
"Because she's the Daughter of Durikan," Black Widow said.
"What is the Daughter of Durikan?"
Annan shot Brino Jana a grateful look.
"You've been back this long and still don't know what the Daughter of Durikan is? Did all that time at Snow Mountain Fortress freeze your brain?"
"Enough. This isn't the time to bicker." Annan cut off Black Widow's mockery.
"For Annan's sake, I won't drop you on the ground." Brino Jana was still supporting Black Widow.
"For Annan's sake, I'll tell you what the Daughter of Durikan is." Black Widow explained the Girl's origins.
The Daughter of Durikan was not the daughter of someone named Durikan. Durikan was what the Dimon Kingdom called the Snow Mountains. The title meant "Daughter of the Snow Mountains," a role equivalent to a Divine Servant of the Church.
"Many of my sisters were taken by demons. My lord, can you save them?" the Daughter of Durikan pleaded with Annan.
"No," Black Widow answered for him. "Little girl, don't cling to false hope. If your sisters were taken, they're never coming back."
The Girl pressed her lips together, but the stubborn set of her mouth slowly gave way to despair.
Annan could only offer some comfort. "It's all right. They've only been turned into Incubus Kin. They might still be saved. But we have something more urgent to deal with... Does anyone know the way out?"
The women shook their heads. They had been brought here in all sorts of ways and had had no chance to remember the route.
"Then we go up."
Annan decided on the simplest approach.
After exploring several caves connected to the Dungeon, he chose one that demons often used and that sloped upward.
