"The City Lord's Mansion has decided. You'll play Alexander."
Annan told Femi, who had been summoned to the town, "Luoxi will take over your duties with the Hellfire Legion for now."
Femi considered obedience his duty. He only asked, "What about the war in the Kingdom?"
"The front line just needs to follow orders and fight. We have more to think about." Annan led Femi to a changing room. "Go try on the costume. Do you need someone to help you?"
"No."
Femi went into the changing room. After a short wait, he emerged in Alexander's clothes, his leather boots clicking sharply.
He could dress himself, but he couldn't tie the cords with one hand. Betty stepped over and tied them for him, then backed up a few paces to look him over. "Try saying, 'I am Alexander.'"
"I am Alexander."
"Too steady. Make it a little more teasing, a little more flippant."
"I am Alexander."
"Not bad."
Betty's eyes lit up.
Annan asked, "What do you think?"
"The clothes don't quite suit me."
"That's the point. You're a bandit and a former knight of the Kingdom. You need a bit of a wild streak."
Annan was very pleased with Femi's look as Alexander. There was no need to consider anyone else.
"Betty, I'm leaving Femi's training to you. You have one week. Any problems?"
"Then I'll have to use magic for an intensive course."
