A Cultivator rushed out of the Bar.
The others snapped out of their daze and immediately charged out after him.
Before long,
everyone had left the Bar.
But—
once all the Cultivators were gone, several people slammed open the Bar's door and doubled back, rushing to the Bar Counter.
"Something else you need?"
the Bird-Headed Monster asked in surprise.
Without a word, they picked up the glasses on the Bar Counter, tipped back their heads, and drank.
They had obtained the Rule without doing a thing!
"Hey, that's not right. You haven't completed your commissions. How dare you take the Rule here?" the Bird-Headed Monster protested. "Cut the crap," one of them snapped, glaring at it.
In the Primordial Era, the cultivation world had been exactly like this.
The weak were meat for the strong.
The strong took everything.
Only after the spoils had been divided and everyone had begun keeping one another in check had a semblance of peace emerged.
Who wouldn't be tempted by a true stroke of fortune?
The first to strike gained the upper hand!
After drinking, the Cultivators stood still, sensing the changes in their bodies.
"I forgot to tell you," the Bird-Headed Monster said slowly, showing no anger. "Touch the Bar's property without completing its commission, and you'll be punished. And you broke down the door."
"The Rule you obtained has already been fixed as 'Compensation.'"
Before its words had faded,
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!
In a string of sharp reports, the Cultivators all turned into broad, sturdy wooden tables and chairs.
The Bird-Headed Monster tapped the Bar Counter.
The tables and chairs flew into a corner at once, landing firmly in neat rows.
"Not bad. The Bar finally has another table and a few more chairs. We can serve more customers now."
