"Stop!" Shen Bing's shout stopped the impulsive Wang Bo in his tracks.
By then, Shen Bing had more or less pieced together what had happened. Although he sympathized deeply with Wang Bo and loathed the shameless couple before him just as much, he knew this was no time to throw punches.
Under the current law, the couple's affair would earn them nothing worse than moral condemnation. But Wang Bo had beaten someone up, and in full view of the public at that. He was damn well going to face legal consequences.
Never mind Wang Bo—even Shen Bing couldn't claim to be above the law.
The immediate priority was figuring out how to get Wang Bo out of this mess.
The most effective approach was actually to persuade the man he had beaten not to pursue the matter.

"Old Shen, stay out of it! Laozi is killing this bastard today, even if I have to pay with my own life!" King Bo snapped out of his daze and struggled to charge forward again.
The middle-aged man shrank back. He really was afraid of someone with nothing to lose.
"You fucking idiot! Is his life worth as much as yours? He's already got one foot in the grave. You've still got your whole life ahead of you!"
The onlookers froze. Was that any way to talk someone down? They had certainly never heard anything like it.
The middle-aged man's face turned livid. When Shen Bing had stopped Wang Bo, he had felt a flicker of gratitude. But what the hell was all that supposed to mean?
*Laozi is only
