Marshal Qinglan's mind raced. He had lost a twentieth of his force in an instant. Should he charge or not?
This was an entirely new weapon, completely different from the one described in earlier reports, which caused massive explosions.
How often could this weapon fire? They had no idea.
If they charged headlong only for those beams to fly as freely as spit, their thousand Cosmic Spirit Ships probably would not even amount to a mouthful.
But if they did not charge, were they supposed to turn around and go home? Were they giving up Coral Star?
If they truly abandoned it, this planet would inevitably fall into the mysterious enemy's hands. With the Azure Empire occupying the other planets, a war between the two sides would be unavoidable in the end. He might still have to face this absurdly powerful weapon then.
At that thought, Marshal Qinglan's head ached.
In a flash, Marshal Qinglan made his decision.
Although the enemy weapon had tremendous offensive power, its destructive effect was not particularly pronounced.
All fifty Cosmic Spirit Ships had been hit, and even their Energy Shields had shattered because the instantaneous attacks exceeded their limits. In reality, however, not one of those fifty Cosmic Spirit Ships had been completely destroyed.
That being the case, Marshal Qinglan felt this battle was not unwinnable.
"Full speed ahead! All troops, assemble and form battle formations!"
This fleet consisted of troops directly under Marshal Qinglan's command, and they were thoroughly familiar with his orders.
Almost instantly, all the Cosmic Spirit Ships gathered into tightly packed groups of ten. Surges of tremendous energy rose from the ships and merged into the light screens surrounding them.
The light screens that had originally enveloped individual ships suddenly expanded and fused together, forming enormous light screens that enclosed
