As though proving what that voice had just said, the concrete path, barely a meter wide and normally free of even loose dirt, had tripped him five times. Either a rock appeared out of nowhere or someone had left a plank in his way.
Worst of all, one of those planks had a nail sticking out of it. By sheer rotten luck, his right foot landed on it, and the nail pierced clean through.
At the time, his mind had been so consumed by thoughts of Ghosts that he hadn't even noticed. Only after reaching home did he discover the injury, and the searing pain nearly made him pass out.
What now? Go to the hospital, of course! A wound that big could kill him if he didn't get it dressed.
But there were Ghosts outside!

So he picked up his phone and called an accomplice named Qiangzi.
