Shen Bing looked baffled. "What Turing Award?"

It wasn't that Shen Bing didn't know what the Turing Award was. As a computer science student, he understood better than most what it meant to everyone in the computing industry. It was unquestionably the Nobel Prize of computing.

What baffled him was why Commander Gao had suddenly brought it up.

Commander Gao found his reaction rather strange as well. "The Turing Award those Americans nominated you for. You're now one of the candidates. I asked a few people in the field, and you'd have to go to the United States in person to accept it. There's never been a precedent for someone accepting it on the winner's behalf, or for them holding the ceremony overseas."

Now Shen Bing understood. Without his knowledge, someone had arranged an award for him, and he had to collect it in person—well, for now, he had only been nominated.

"The Turing Award doesn't have any government ties, does it?" Shen Bing muttered. He had only known that the award was established by the Association for Computing Machinery. He really had no idea whether the government had a hand in it.

Commander Gao said, "I may not know what this Turing Award is, but I do know that as long as it's on American soil, those people in the White House can pull whatever tricks they want with ease."

Shen Bing understood!

"They're gearing up to cause trouble!"

Commander Gao breathed a sigh of relief. "So you're saying you didn't seek this award yourself?"

"Commander Gao, do I look like someone with a screw loose?"

"That's more like it," Commander Gao said. "According to our intelligence department's assessment, if you didn't seek this award yourself, there's a fifty percent chance it's a trap the Americans set for you.
