The office fell silent for a short while before Kleizer spoke. "Mr. President, whatever Shen Bing's reason for going to London, I believe we cannot afford to miss this opportunity." As everyone turned toward him, Kleizer continued, "First, we still don't know whether Shen Bing will accept the Turing Award. If he doesn't show up, we'll have to rack our brains for another plan. Rather than do that, we should seize this opportunity and capture him in one fell swoop."
"But if we act in the United Kingdom, will our ally agree?" Secretary of State Morey asked with a frown.
Kleizer sneered. "We don't need their agreement!"
"That will plunge London into chaos!" Morey said, his eyes widening. "And London's security forces are hardly weak. Our operatives could face enormous pressure."
Kleizer replied disdainfully, "This time, we'll deploy our most elite personnel and even use our most advanced equipment. Including that thing!"
As Kleizer spoke, he looked toward the President.
Everyone else was bewildered. They had no idea what "that thing" Kleizer mentioned actually was.
The President sank into thought. Several seconds later, he gritted his teeth and said, "I approve the Secretary's proposal!"
"But the United Kingdom is an important ally. If they eventually find out, it could damage relations between our countries." Morey was still worried.
The President said, "No alliance, however important, matters more than capturing Shen Bing. Relations between nations are nothing more than a convergence of interests. Even leaving aside whether those British fellows will discover our operation, what if they do? At worst, we'll concede a few benefits. I imagine the British Prime Minister and his people would be more than happy with that."
Morey fell silent. There was no arguing with the President's words.
"Kleizer! You will have full responsibility for this operation!"
