Shen Bing went downstairs with Yun Xue and found his parents had cornered Li Xiao on the sofa, peppering him with questions. Most concerned everything that had happened to them in Seattle.
Perhaps hearing the footsteps of the two coming downstairs, they stopped questioning him.
Shen Bing was used to this. His parents had been like this since he was little. To keep him from becoming dependent, they had never shown him too much concern or affection to his face. Over time, it had become a habit they could no longer change.
Anyone else who saw them might have thought his parents did not care about him at all.
