At that moment, Shen Bing was filled with doubts. After all, his coming to the university for his Thesis Defense had been far from certain.
The discussion in the office afterward had been arranged on the spur of the moment, too. Could the other side have foreseen it?
Well, foresight was a little too fantastical. Shen Bing figured something must have gone wrong somewhere, allowing the news to leak.
He still did not know where the problem lay. He would have to wait until the culprit was caught to find out.
Shen Bing then left the restroom and returned to the office where they had been talking.
With time running short, Principal Li and the others invited him to proceed to his Thesis Defense shortly after he returned.
"Mr. Shen, you can speak freely during this defense. There's no need for us to assess your professional knowledge; it's unquestionably solid," Principal Li said. "What I'm curious about is your view of the internet industry's future development. I hope you'll share more of those broader ideas during the defense."
Shen Bing could not help twitching. Was that a demanding request? Not at all.
As a computer science student, he had often envied students in other majors who could write theoretical theses. His own major generally required an actual program for the graduation thesis, which was much harder than a theoretical paper, especially for anyone who had not studied seriously.
What Shen Bing had prepared for this thesis was a program! He had not attached much importance to the defense. He had only come because he wanted to bring this stage of his life to a proper conclusion. He had not planned on doing anything special.
Yet now they wanted him to discuss the industry's future direction? That had come rather suddenly.
