Little Bird climbed rapidly, banks of white clouds streaming past both sides of its fuselage with a thrilling sense of speed.
The increased g-force made both young women's expressions shift. They had flown before and knew ordinary acceleration could not produce this sensation.
Moreover, through the windows, they could see the steep angle between the fuselage and the horizon, further proof of how quickly the aircraft was climbing.
Ordinary Passenger Planes cruised at altitudes between seven and twelve thousand meters. Looking down from that height, passengers could still make out the outlines of large buildings, provided clouds and mist did not obscure the view.
But as Little Bird continued to climb, Yun Xue noticed the buildings on the ground growing smaller and smaller. The mountains and rivers formed a vista she had never seen before.
Their eyes drifted involuntarily toward a Phantom Vision Display on the cabin wall, which showed the current temperatures inside and outside, their flight speed, and their altitude.
They ignored the temperatures outright, but the flight speed made their hearts skip a beat. The figure of 940 km/h was particularly striking.
"Are we approaching the speed of sound?" Yuan Wei murmured.
"This is only the beginning!" Shen Bing said.
Yuan Wei and Yun Xue abruptly turned to stare at him. What the hell? Approaching the speed of sound was only the beginning? Was he planning to leave Earth and head into space?
Well, that was certainly an ambitious dream. A spacecraft needed tremendous thrust to escape Earth, and the little bit of aviation fuel aboard this small plane certainly would not do the job.
