Shen Bing said casually, "I have confidence in our company's technical capabilities."
Laura felt torn. Sure, you're confident, but if you won't tell us anything, how am I supposed to know just how confident you are?
"Of course! Your company's capabilities are evident to the whole world," Laura said. "But we would like to hear exactly what this new technology of yours can achieve. That hardly involves any technical secrets. Surely you don't need to be so secretive about it, Mr. Shen?"
Shen Bing said, "There's really nothing to keep secret. Even the technical documentation isn't off-limits."
"You're not joking, Mr. Shen?" Laura clearly did not understand Shen Bing's personality.
Shen Bing said quite seriously, "Of course not. Even if I released the technical documentation, nobody else would be able to reproduce the technology anyway."
What a flex! It caught Laura completely off guard.
"I didn't expect you to be so confident, Mr. Shen. Now I'm even more curious," Laura said.
Shen Bing said, "Actually, there's nothing particularly remarkable about this technology once you explain it. We used Genetic Modification Technology to create a microorganism that grows in oil, particularly crude oil. It reproduces explosively, its numbers increasing exponentially. Even the crude oil pollution in New York Harbor in the United States could be completely broken down by these microorganisms in a few days at most."
After saying this, Shen Bing glanced at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Director named Mike.
Mr. Mike, Laura, and everyone who had accompanied them all looked skeptical.
They had never heard of microorganisms that fed on petroleum. If such microorganisms really existed, they would have eaten all the petroleum on Earth long ago.
As for Shen Bing's claim that these microorganisms had been created through genetic modification, could genetic modification actually change a species'
