At that point, Gold Island stood at least fifteen stories tall by normal floor measurements, with nine levels underwater and seven above the surface.
In other words, the portion of Gold Island above the water stood more than twenty meters high.
However, Gold Island itself could be adjusted. It could rise as much as thirty-five meters above the water, towering over the sea.
That height did not include the buildings on the island, though none of them were particularly tall—five stories at most. Compared with Gold Island as a whole, they were practically little single-story houses.
Despite Gold Island's enormous size, only its top two levels housed the island's staff. All the remaining space was devoted to production and manufacturing.
Those two residential levels were far from small. This was three square kilometers of space, all of it usable. There were only four or five hundred living people on Gold Island at present, but even forty or fifty thousand could live there without feeling crowded.
The production and manufacturing area, however, was Gold Island's real centerpiece.
Up to that point, Gold Island's primary task had been expanding itself, so most of its equipment was used for metal smelting and machinery manufacturing.
Only the steady stream of raw materials delivered by the two Immortal Carriages had allowed Gold Island to maintain its frantic rate of expansion.
Now that Gold Island covered three square kilometers, however, it had ample interior manufacturing space, and adding other production workshops had become an urgent priority.
The top task on the list was an Intelligent Robot production workshop.
Shen Bing had assigned that task.
After all, an island as large as Gold Island could hardly be maintained by a few hundred people, could it? Although production on the island was highly automated, many tasks could not
