After hearing Difu's report, Shen Bing nodded. "We need to step up robot production. Eight hundred robots are a little too few. According to the original plan, Ocean City needs a workforce of at least ten thousand."
"Don't worry, Boss." Difu hesitated for a few seconds after answering, then asked, "Boss, these robots have such incredible intelligence. Could we turn them into combat robots?"
"The current robots can fight, too." Shen Bing made no attempt to hide anything from Difu and said with a smile, "Just download the appropriate driver templates, and they'll instantly become special forces soldiers better than even the world's finest elite troops. Whether it's hand-to-hand combat or handling firearms, they'll leave humans in the dust."
"That's not what I mean," Difu said. "I'm talking about their bodies. Could we make them like the liquid metal robot in Terminator 3?"
"Liquid metal?" Shen Bing had never considered that before. After all, he had never needed it.
But now that Difu had brought it up, he felt it was indeed worth looking into.
Of course, liquid metal here did not mean a naturally occurring liquid metal such as mercury, but a special alloy that could freely switch between liquid and solid.
There was little point in mass-producing robots like that, but they could prove useful in certain special situations.
The Underground Base's research team had never specifically studied liquid metal, nor had Shen Bing obtained any related technology from the Gate to the Immortal Realm. But that did not mean the Underground Base lacked a foundation in this field.
The surface material of the Alien Spaceship that had fallen from the sky a while ago was not liquid metal, but it did possess certain properties they could draw on.
What the Underground Base needed to do now was
