At that moment, George had no attention to spare for the other three Fighter Aircraft. Otherwise, he would have noticed that they, too, were flying toward the missiles they had fired.
Actually, "flying" was not quite the right word. They were charging straight into them!
The missiles were incredibly fast, but these sixth-generation fighters were even faster.
For the first time, George resented his sixth-generation fighter's speed.
Damn! Would it kill you to slow down?
That resentment flashed through George's mind before a far more important question occurred to him—how had the aircraft gone out of control?
This was a sixth-generation Fighter Aircraft representing the pinnacle of technology. Any one of its technologies could put those of other countries to shame...
Well, Huaxia probably did not belong on that list.
But that did nothing to diminish George's confidence in the combat capabilities of his Sea Eagle Fighter Aircraft.
And yet, an aircraft like this had actually stopped responding to his controls!
This was the most goddamn automated, intelligent Fighter Aircraft ever built. It was practically a living being in its own right. It could communicate with him, it could...
"Shit! Has the artificial intelligence actually developed a mind of its own? Has it rebelled?"
Countless thoughts raced through George's mind.
The more he thought about it, the more terrifying it became! Could the events of I, Robot really happen on Earth? Sure, the rebels in that movie were robots, but who could say that a rebellion by his country's sixth-generation fighters would be any less dangerous?
If artificial intelligence really evolved into something like Skynet from The Terminator and took control of the intelligent equipment in automated factories, humanity... would truly be in danger.
Suddenly, George wondered whether something was wrong with his head.
His Fighter Aircraft was getting closer
