Shen Bing gave a wry smile. "I was being serious."
Before Yun Xue could say anything else, Shen Bing flicked a finger. The holographic image hovering over the table abruptly changed, revealing a figure that looked like a robot warrior straight out of a movie.
Then its body slowly came apart, its components floating away one by one until only a seemingly pulsating brain remained.
"What is that?" Yuan Wei asked.
"An alien!" Shen Bing said.
"Seriously?" Yun Xue exclaimed.
"Girl, is my credibility really that bad?" Shen Bing shot her a disgruntled look. "It really is an alien. In fact, it's one I sent people to capture a few days ago. It's being held in this underground base right now. If you don't believe me, you can go take a look later."
Yun Xue froze for less than a second before her doubts vanished. Once she regained her composure, a flurry of thoughts raced through her mind.
"Aliens attacked the White House? What were they after? The White House may look like the center of power in the United States, but that's really all it is. If the aliens wanted to cripple Earth's ability to resist, surely the White House wouldn't be their first target?"
The corners of Shen Bing's mouth lifted slightly. "Qiuqiu, do you have footage from the White House? Put it up right away."
As soon as Shen Bing finished speaking, the image returned to the ruins.
Compared with the carefully selected footage shown on the news earlier, however, the scene before them offered a more authentic picture.
The viewing angles were rather limited, though. Every shot looked down from above, since all the footage had been captured by Shen Bing's satellites.
