Li Xin and his girlfriend were baffled. One person couldn't order two cars?
"Aren't there two of us here?" Li Xin protested.
The robot clerk maintained its service smile. "But your girlfriend hasn't queued. If she wishes to order one, please join the queue."
Li Xin opened his mouth, but couldn't argue. Fine, she would queue.
But when the two of them turned to look behind them, despair crept over them.
Hadn't there only been a dozen or so people earlier? Where the hell had this enormous line come from?
"Excuse me... is there a limit on reservations for your Skyflying Cars?" Li Xin had a bad feeling.
"Yes," the robot clerk replied. "Our store has a daily sales quota of one hundred standard Skyflying Cars, five advanced models, and one luxury model. To prevent reservation wait times from stretching indefinitely, we only accept reservations within a single production cycle. In other words, when there is no stock available, our daily reservation quota is the same as our sales quota."
Li Xin mulled that over for quite a while before he finally understood.
But that was... utterly ridiculous.
Although he had only glanced behind him, there were definitely more than a hundred people in line. He could even see another robot clerk heading over to explain the situation to those farther back.
"It's all my fault!" Xin Yue said meekly. If she had joined the queue instead of stopping Li Xin when she first rushed into the store, they wouldn't have been in this predicament.
If they couldn't get one today, their chances would probably be even slimmer later.
After their experience today, they could easily imagine how wildly popular the Skyflying Car would become. Getting hold of one would be next to impossible. Demand would undoubtedly exceed that for
