At the sound of that voice, shock flashed across their faces!
They whipped around and saw a figure approaching from afar, about to reach them!
"He caught up already!"
Langhao groaned. He spun around and swept out a hand, sending a Talisman flying!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Thunder flashed. A blinding bolt stretched across the pursuer's path like a wall, cutting him off!
Langhao's clothes were soaked with sweat, and he was gasping for breath. Without looking back, he shouted, "Zhang Jingbei! If you don't use it now, when will you?"
"Easy for you to say! It's not that simple!" Zhang Jingbei shouted back. His hands did not falter. He pulled a sheet of golden Talisman Paper from his robes and flicked a finger. Blood welled from his thumb, and he smeared it across the talisman.
The blood glimmered and shifted over the paper, sinking in one moment and being forced back out the next.
"Mm!"
He grunted, formed a Hand Seal, and muttered an incantation. Layer upon layer of Spirit Light surged from his already withered, aged body and poured into the Talisman Paper in his hand!
"Still not ready?" Langhao glanced back at him. "Hurry up!"
Zhang Jingbei glared at him, breaking off his incantation. "If this thing were that easy to activate, we wouldn't have a problem!"
"Don't stop!" Langhao spluttered, his whiskers bristling.

The sound of tearing silk came from ahead. The wall of thunder split apart, and a man walked through.
His hair, clothes, and face were white, and he had no beard. He looked young, barely in his twenties, but his cold eyes bore the marks of passing years.
With one sweep of his gaze, he took in the entire scene.
