There was too much going on that day, and with revisions and five updates on top of it, I'd barely managed to squeeze out the time. By the time I got around to making up for the missing remarks, it was already the next day.

It wasn't until the afternoon that someone reminded me I'd forgotten to write any release-day remarks. I was completely dumbfounded. Then I realized why I'd kept feeling like something was missing.

I'd actually wanted to post everything I had saved up, but I might have a team-building event tomorrow, and the day after that I have to travel for a friend's wedding (I'm not a groomsman this time). So I have to keep something in reserve. Otherwise, what would it look like if I posted a huge batch for the release, then missed an update the very next day?

Coming back to xianxia after so many years has stirred up a lot of feelings. There are far fewer constraints when writing it, which honestly feels wonderful. I can put so many of my ideas on the page.

Speaking of which, that brings me to why I moved over to the historical fiction category before.

For one thing, I really am interested in history. But as I see now, liking something and being able to write it well are two different things.

Another reason was that Qidian underwent a revamp, and my editor, Huya Da Wang, was assigned to the historical fiction category. She asked me about it, and I decided to follow her over.

After all, when my work was flopping miserably, it was thanks to Huya Da Wang's guidance that things finally started to improve.
