Background and History
Born a demon, Bi Lingkong joined the Confucian School after the scholar Gongzhi Chang won her over. She was close to Wen Chao and Zhao Sheng, the future Emperor Di Jiazi. In her younger years she was mischievous and prone to trouble; Wen Chao’s patient guidance helped her mature 542 560.
Zhao Sheng’s assault on the Confucian School nearly killed her. She later attacked him during the Fengshan rites at Mount Tai, but could not bring herself to kill the exhausted emperor outright. After years of seclusion and dangerous cultivation, she returned determined to outlive and bring down Great Xia while preserving what remained of her school 459 587.
Bi Lingkong taught Pan Long the Confucian art Follow Your Heart’s Desire, as well as practical methods of concealment and escape. She remained protective of him, sometimes intervening secretly so that their teacher–student connection would not expose him to her enemies 272 416 454.

As a teacher, she favors practical exercises and warns against following another person’s path blindly. She adapts her advice to the student, whether protecting Pan Long from politically dangerous techniques or suggesting a cultivation method suited to Zheng Shuang’s limitations 272 324 373 563.
