Feng Feitian used her Dagger to sever the monster's head and tossed it to Old Roughworker. The creature's skull was first-rate material for crafting equipment; it could not go to waste.
Old Roughworker had his own method for stripping away the flesh in no time, leaving only a clean white skull. "...gone." Feng Feitian was carefully examining the traces inside the cave. She shook her head. "There's none in here either."
The cave held quite a collection, though the monster did not share a dragon's particular obsession. Its treasures were rather strange—at least from Luo Qian's point of view. A particular piece of some enormous coral might be enshrined like a sacred relic, while things Luo Qian liked, such as Immortal Jade, were not popular among Demon Beasts. He picked up a strange shell and asked, "What is this? Food? But how did they manage it?"
Old Roughworker shook his head. "Demon Beasts measure their wealth in Netherfire Shells. The more shells one owns, the richer one is. This one counted as a wealthy fellow in the Heavenly River." They gave off a ghost-fire glow that Demon Beasts adored.
Luo Qian looked at the pair of shells, then put them into his Storage Space himself. Whatever else they were, they were a nation's currency. Even yen or Zimbabwean dollars were still valid money. A mosquito might be small, but it was still a morsel of meat; a bean bun was still food.
Old Roughworker saw him do it. "...trade?" Luo Qian chuckled. "That's not impossible." He had found something that interested him.
After a quick sweep for valuables, they withdrew from their first destination. Apart from Netherfire Shells, they had found nothing. Old Roughworker and his companion were undoubtedly the big winners here.
