Volume Five: Boundless Horizons, Chapter Eleven: Building a Team in the Saint Realm (Part One)
The bodyguards were all capable, and Luo Qian wanted to recruit them. But Zhe Fangshi showed no interest in working with him long-term. Luo Qian chatted with the big-mouthed Isaac twice and, sure enough, coaxed out everything about Zhe Fangshi. It turned out Zhe Fangshi was determined to reclaim his planet. Luo Qian could understand. Being driven from your own home was a humiliation no one could forget; it only grew sharper as the months slipped away. Besides, after so many years of wandering, Zhe Fangshi must have longed for a home of his own.
If Zhe Fangshi wanted his planet back, that made things easier. Luo Qian had an idea.
The rest of the journey passed without danger. They stopped at an inn for the night, where Luo Qian acted as though he had nothing better to do than arrange seeds from a bag into geometric shapes on the table. Sure enough, Zhe Fangshi noticed. His eyes flashed as he hesitated. By the time Luo Qian finished arranging the first bag, he had already pulled out a second and started again. At last, Zhe Fangshi could not hold back. He came over and asked, "Do you have a lot of seeds?"
Although Zhe Fangshi led the bodyguards, he had said little throughout the journey, keeping whatever he did say brief. Luo Qian had barely spoken to him. Hearing the question, Luo Qian turned and casually pulled several more bags from his sleeve. "Plenty. In this world, seeds are a kind of currency. Of course I brought extra."
Those bags alone could buy several Superior Saint Stones, but greening an entire planet would take far more. Even with Luo Qian's plump, vigorous seeds and a germination rate of one hundred percent, a few bags would cover only a few acres.
