Lisa, standing beside Sister Angelica, spread her ethereal wings and embraced the nun. Gentle light flowed from her, enveloping all three of them and forming a round shield in front of them.

Florence was still caught up in the joy of seeing the Son of God when the cathedral roof suddenly exploded. For a moment, he was stunned.
"Is someone attacking the Holy Mother?" Lisa stared out vigilantly, pouring out Divine Power without restraint. If the Holy Mother lost so much as a hair, Lisa could never atone for it, even with ten thousand deaths.
Outside the cathedral, Simon had been facing down a squad of soldiers armed to the teeth, his face tense.
He was an ordinary man who had received Divine Power only a day ago. He was nowhere near strong enough to do whatever he pleased.
