The dormitory living room.
Chen Shu braced a hand on the back of the sofa and asked Jiang Lai, who was sitting there:
"Did you sign up for the Martial Body Meet?"
"Yeah. We have to."
"What did you sign up for?"
"The 1,000-Meter Run, weightlifting, and Spiritless Long Jump."
"What about the Arena Match?"
"We're entered in that automatically."
"Oh..."
"What's wrong?"
"Our Ancient Cultivator Academy is counted in the Martial Arts College division, so our academy will be competing against yours."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You'll probably wipe the floor with us."
"It won't just be us. Our college has both Martial Artists and Martial Cultivation students, and the Martial Artists get crushed by the Martial Cultivation students in most events. Besides, we'll be up against other schools too. A third-year senior said the people from the National Defense Military Academy are monsters." Jiang Lai scratched his head. "What events are you signing up for, Brother Chen?"
"I'll sign up for something."
"What?"
"I haven't decided about the Standard Competition events, or whether I'll enter any. But I'm definitely entering the Arena Competition."
"Huh?"
Jiang Lai's mouth fell open in shock.
To him, Brother Chen was a top student who knew cooking and the principles of Runes inside out. He had a gentle personality too. Though he practiced martial arts, he was only so-so at them. Most of the time, he stayed in his room reading or sat at his computer studying things Jiang Lai couldn't understand. He seemed more like an intellectual.
Chen Shu said with a chuckle, "I'm just going for the fun of it. You have to sign up before you're allowed in to watch."
"Oh, right..."
Jiang Lai nodded. That made more sense.
Chen Shu then went back to his room.
He opened Feixin.
