Jade Capital's North District, New Sage Square.
A school had once stood here. In his youth, the New Sage had come to the Jade Capital after hearing of its reputation and studied there.
The New Sage had traveled the world seeking knowledge when he was young, with teachers everywhere he went. But that had not stopped the people of the Jade Capital from later preserving the school as a landmark and erecting a statue in the square before it to commemorate the new era he had brought to the world.
And so the square was called New Sage Square.
People came and went across it now.
There were uncles and aunties doing square dancing, old men supposedly exercising but actually performing acrobatics, children chasing one another, tourists fresh from checking in at the school and posing with the statue, and vendors hawking their wares. What a lively place.
Some mischievous children had climbed onto the statue's pedestal and were trampling back and forth across its bronze feet.
A young woman was even dancing suggestively nearby.
Wearing a hat, the New Sage walked slowly up to the statue and raised his head to meet the gaze of his enormous bronze likeness. Time seemed to stand still. But after only a few seconds, he went around it and headed straight for the bamboo school inside the square, which had been kept as close to its original state as possible.
Back then, he had studied the Central Nation's history and culture here, not cultivation Spells.
In truth, the school no longer looked quite as it did in his memory.
After all, he had not yet accomplished the great things he would later do when he first left. Time had passed, and by the time people thought to preserve the school, it had already
