Then he spoke slowly.
"The Luthor Group's security system was breached five minutes ago. I've been waiting for you."
"Who are you? What did you come here to steal?"
Yongye spread his hands, his smile never fading.
"Come on, I'm a guest. Mr. Luthor was kind enough to invite me to see his collection."
"You're the thief here. What are you after?"
They had both come to steal something, yet each sounded more righteous than the other when demanding answers.
Batman spun a batarang between his fingers. His gaze swept over the partial nano-armor covering only Yongye's right arm and hand, but his voice remained flat.
"That thing on your arm doesn't look like Earth technology."
"Last chance. Tell me who you are and what you're doing here, and I won't break your bones."
Yongye tilted his head as though he had heard a particularly good joke.
Then he struck first!
He pushed lightly off the carpet and blurred toward Batman.
His right fist, wrapped in silver-gray nano-armor, drove straight for the center of Batman's chest plate. A film of Chakra, almost invisible to the naked eye, covered his knuckles.
Batman reacted with astonishing speed.
He slipped sideways and flicked his wrist as he threw the batarang, sending it along a curved path. Its tip cut precisely toward a gap in the armor on the outside of Yongye's wrist.
Yongye kept his punch on course but turned his wrist half an inch. The batarang's tip slid past the edge of his wrist guard, leaving only a faint white mark on the Nanoparticles. It vanished at once.
The two crossed paths in the corridor, collided, and broke apart, moving like springs wound to their limits.
