Nick Fury wore a dark gray suit today with a glossy black tie. His one eye was still sharp enough to pierce steel, and a faint crease in the front of his jacket suggested a bulletproof vest underneath.
Beside him stood a middle-aged man more than half a head taller. His close-cropped hair was graying, his jaw looked carved from stone, and a general's star adorned the shoulder of his dark green uniform. Yongye couldn't be bothered to look closer.
The man radiated the brutal air of someone who had killed on the battlefield. He stood as straight as a flagpole planted in the ground.

Yongye recognized that old face.
Lois Lane's father—the general who was forever "away on business," according to a certain Daily Planet reporter. Yongye had seen Lois Lane's family photo at the Daily Planet.

Fury came in, his steps noticeably heavier than they had been in the KTV private room last time.
General Lane followed him, quickly scanning the living room. His gaze paused for a moment each at the corners, the windowsills, and where the walls met the ceiling... The standard room-clearing habit of an old soldier.
Fury sat in the folding chair across from Yongye. General Lane remained standing by the window, hands clasped behind his back. He looked Yongye in the face and got straight to the point.
"Mr. Yongye."
Lane's voice was low and firm, carrying the pressure of a man accustomed to giving orders.
"I don't know what grudges you have with Stark, Batman, or the others, and I don't care."
"The Kryptonians are about to attack. This isn't an ordinary alien invasion. It's a war of extermination
