Helen Cho's reply came quickly. Just two words: "Got it."
Sharon glanced at the phone screen, then lowered her eyes without expression and went back to sorting the documents.
She had seen so much lately that nothing surprised her anymore.
Yongye put away his phone, delighted.
"Tonight, I'm going to get some serious cultivation done."
"The Art of the Bedroom, huh... Talk about perfect timing."
Back at his apartment, Yongye stood under the shower. Hot water poured over his head and steam filled the room. He closed his eyes, feeling warmth slowly rise from deep within his Dantian.
The breathing method from the Art of the Bedroom was running on its own.
"Good stuff..."
He shook his head with a smile, turned off the water, dried himself, slipped into a loose bathrobe, and left the bathroom.
Tonight was going to be a sleepless night.
Early the next morning.
Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, spreading a warm golden patch across the carpet.
Yongye sat up in bed and stretched, his joints popping in a rapid series. He glanced beside him. Helen Cho was curled up under the covers, fast asleep, with a faint smile on her lips that she hadn't even noticed herself.
The Art of the Bedroom had worked immediately.
After their repeated rounds last night, Helen Cho was far from exhausted. Her cheeks were rosy, and she looked healthier than she had in a long time.
Afterward, she had asked for a second round, a third, then who knew how many more—like someone who had gone hungry for three days and finally found a feast.
In high spirits, Yongye stepped barefoot onto the floor and walked to the window, looking out over Manhattan's morning skyline.
Today, it was time to go to Gotham.
