Yongye stood on the far side of the square, his blond hair whipping through the smoke drifting high overhead.
"Batman?"
He deliberately repeated the name loud enough for everyone to hear, then launched into a pointed tirade.
"He built a super suit of armor specifically to use against my Senior Brother Yongye?"
"What a backstabbing ingrate!"
"My Senior Brother Yongye works himself to the bone protecting Earth, and Batman hides in the shadows, scheming up ways to take him down!"
"If he were actually capable, that would be one thing. But he can't even protect his own turf in Gotham!"
"He's out of his depth, stupid, and rotten!"
As Yongye spoke, he drew a custom Kunai with a dark golden sheen from his waist and twirled it between his fingers. He leaned slightly toward the dark gray armor and settled into a fighting stance.
"Batman, open your damn eyes and watch!"
"Watch me tear your pile of scrap apart!"
Joker's voice burst from the armor's speakers, shrill with excitement.
"Scrap? Go on, try it!"
Heat vents on the dark gray armor's back snapped open. The nozzles of twelve miniature gravity-field generators extended from gaps in the plating and charged in half a second, emitting a low, piercing hum.
At first, the hum sounded like the beating of tiny wings. Then it climbed sharply into a vibration that made eardrums ache, sending a visible ripple of distortion through the air above Gotham's Central Square.
A super-gravity field!
The paving stones beneath Yongye's feet collapsed at once.
The granite looked as if an invisible giant hand had slammed down on it. First it cracked, then it caved in and crumbled to powder.
The invisible pressure spread from the armor like a vast iron curtain, crushing everything within thirty meters toward the ground.
