The Golden Cloth glowed with a warm yet dazzling light beneath the moon. Every line of the sun pattern on its shoulder guards stood out clearly, while the faces of good and evil on either side of the helmet caught the shadows differently, like two torches lit at once.
Yongye walked at an unhurried pace, each step finding the flattest part of the reef. His boots struck the stone with a steady sound. He looked utterly confident.
He stopped about five paces from them, his right hand resting casually at his waist. His gaze passed over Arthur's shoulder and settled on Mera's still-shocked face.
Arthur stared at him, first stunned. Then a bitter smile touched his lips, as if he had known this moment would come.
