After a deal worth over a hundred million...
Yongye, disguised as Minato Namikaze, stood atop an office building that had yet to collapse on the edge of Sendai City. The morning breeze lifted the hem of his dark blue short-sleeved shirt, and the gray dawn light edged his golden hair in cold white.
His gaze passed over the charred Ruins below and settled on the massive dark green figure slowly moving in the city center.
Doomsday crushed another building beneath his foot. As he pulled his bone-white foot from the shattered concrete, it kicked up a cloud of dust. He moved at an unhurried pace, like a beast strolling after a full meal.
Then Minato looked away and glanced down beside him.
On the fire-escape doorframe at the edge of the roof, a white shrine maiden robe lay neatly folded, with crimson hakama on top. Its sash was tied in a small knot and rested on the door handle.
A few steps farther down, a pair of white tabi socks sat neatly on the cold concrete, toes pointing outward, as though their owner was ready to put them on and leave at any moment.
Kikyo knelt in the shadow inside the doorway, beyond the reach of the morning light. Black hair fell over her shoulders, and the plain white cord at its ends had mostly come loose.
She sat sideways to him, hands resting on her knees and chin slightly raised. Her light brown eyes stared at the gray skyline ahead, a struggle churning in them that Minato found fascinating.
It was as though only now had she gone from dead to living, only now gained the feelings of a living person.
Minato looked away, the corner of his mouth lifting.
Then he began fighting on two fronts!
