After going all out against the ANBU, Yongye slipped his hands back into his pockets and walked deeper into the street. His stride remained unhurried, his back straight, his robe stirring gently in the breeze.

Uzuki Yugao knelt on the ground, watching his receding figure through tear-blurred eyes.

She wanted to chase him, to fight for her life, to do anything she could to kill him. But she could not even stand. All she could do was watch him disappear around the corner.

A few breaths later, several dark figures swept in from the surrounding rooftops and alley entrances.

The moment they landed, they saw the carnage: Gekko Hayate lay unconscious in a pool of blood, his crotch soaked crimson.

Uzuki Yugao knelt beside him, coughing blood and sobbing her heart out.

No one spoke. Several Anbu Ninja crouched down and began treating Gekko Hayate's wounds.

The others helped Uzuki Yugao up and quietly asked what had happened. She only shook her head, unable to say a word.

She had made up her mind. She would avenge this blood debt herself, whatever it took, by any means necessary!

Seeing her like this, the ANBU stopped asking.

In truth, they had arrived long ago. The ANBU nearby had sensed the disturbance while Yongye faced off against Gekko Hayate and Uzuki Yugao. But they had not dared approach.

Even ANBU Captain Sarutobi Shinnosuke had had his ribs broken by Uchiha Yongye. What could they do if they stepped in? Get themselves killed?

And strictly speaking, Gekko Hayate had been the one in the wrong!

Being weak was already a crime! Being weak and picking a fight was a crime on top of a crime!

So they had only dared show themselves once Yongye had disappeared completely.

The Hokage Office.
