A figure in teal stepped forward from the ANBU ranks. Shisui removed his animal mask, revealing his gentle face.
His brows were tightly drawn, his Sharingan active, its three tomoe slowly turning in his eyes.
"Yongye, you've gone too far. How dare you address Lord Hokage by name!"
Yongye did not look at him. His gaze remained fixed on Hiruzen Sarutobi, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
"Hiruzen Sarutobi, do you admit your guilt?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi's gaze was sharp as a blade. It met Uchiha Yongye's stare head-on.
His chest rose and fell several times, his Hokage robe trembling at the shoulders. He took a deep breath and spoke slowly, his voice icy cold.
"I told you. I didn't do it!"
The air went still for a moment. Then hurried footsteps sounded at the edge of the crowd.
Hyuga Hiashi emerged from an eastern alley with two members of his clan. His Byakugan was active, veins raised at the corners of his eyes.
