The Death Guard's Forge Hall was perhaps the place that had changed the least since the primarch's return. Simple geometric forms stood in orderly arrangement here, without chaotic disorder or discordant elements. Tools and blueprints were neatly organized, every exposed cable carefully arranged and marked with Binary patterns that only Death Guard Tech-Sergeants could understand.

The dark red banners of the Dusk Raiders had been taken down from the grayish-white walls and replaced with gray-green Death Guard banners.

The rumble of assembly lines echoed intermittently through the Forge Hall. Servitors in simple red robes moved soundlessly between enormous machines, the skull-and-cog emblems of the Adeptus Mechanicus swaying up and down on their robes as they walked.

In one corner of the vast Forge Hall, Tech-Sergeant Alberto, clad in MK2 Power Armor, was sorting and checking the supply of ceramite for the latest batch of MK3 Power Armor.

According to his superior and teacher, Enrique, the newly returned primarch preferred heavy infantry warfare, and the Legion's demand for MK3 Power Armor might rise in the future.

Compared to the Great Crusade-standard MK2 Crusade-pattern Power Armor, the MK3 Iron-pattern sacrificed some mobility and stealth in exchange for stronger defenses. The heavy sloped plating on its helmet could even make bullets ricochet.

MK3 Iron-pattern Power Armor was equipped by every Legion, but only in small quantities. The MK2 Crusade-pattern remained the Legion's mainstay.

When a Legion began using MK3 Power Armor on a large scale, it generally meant a high-casualty meat grinder of a battle. This armor was unsuited for breakthroughs and surprise attacks; it had been created for forcing a path through the enemy on the frontal battlefield.
