Karras crouched on the ground, grinding the deactivated metal beneath his foot. Bored out of his mind, the veteran looked up at the disturbances in the distance of the labyrinth.

Beside him, the primarch Mortarion stood ramrod straight, carefully and cautiously observing the Void Dragon's condition.

Mortarion suddenly paused. The primarch withdrew his gaze in confusion. Karras at his feet noticed the primarch's bewilderment, but his response was still to zone out on his own.

Karras did not react. Mortarion slowly spoke.

"I feel... a premonition... descending."

Karras responded by grinding the liquid metal on the ground again with his toe.

"Again."

Hades said calmly. He remembered.

There had indeed been a routine falling-out between Trazyn and Orikan in the original work. That battle had taken place on Serenade, where Trazyn had gained a slight edge in their two-man duel. But he had then discovered that he had been deceived by The Deceiver, a C'tan—after which Trazyn and Orikan joined forces and ultimately contained The Deceiver, who had fused with at least three Shards of the Star God.

During the battle against The Deceiver, Orikan had briefly ascended into an energy-form C'tan. When the stars aligned, that exceptional astrologer could draw upon immense energy and elevate himself to godhood.

Of course, during that battle, the astral positions had been wrong, so Pokémon Master Trazyn had contributed one of his collectibles—an Eldar gem.

Hades frowned and studied Trazyn. Why was this guy wherever C'tan started popping out?

And... the Shard of The Deceiver Trazyn had fed him before seemed to have been the one it had acquired on Serenade?

Trazyn glanced at Hades, then immediately looked away.

"I—I am equally puzzled by this. I am merely an ordinary overlord with a few personal hobbies."

Hades fell silent. He
