The "Tech-priest"—no, or rather, Trazyn—was muttering to himself. Two towering Ultramarines flanked him, escorting him toward the reception chamber.
At Trazyn's request, this meeting was to remain secret, without any display of Imperial grandeur. Ideally, it would be quiet enough to go unnoticed by most people or things.
It should have been a solemn and serious affair, yet Trazyn's remarks repeatedly left the Ultramarines embarrassed. If one looked closely at their taut faces, one could see them desperately holding back the corners of their mouths.
Trazyn strolled through the palace's towering corridors, while countless gold-carved statues gazed down at this Xenos from the vaulted ceiling—enough to make any Xenos nervous.
Yet Trazyn moved with utter familiarity, as though he had returned home. He seemed even more acquainted with this place than the Ultramarines who had worked here for years. His light footsteps fell upon the red carpet, and from time to time, his green-glowing eyes wandered elsewhere.
The Ultramarines accompanying Trazyn even felt that, if no one were around, Trazyn would unhesitatingly reach for something in the palace and successfully sneak part of it away.
What they did not know was that Trazyn possessed not only quite a few collections from humanity's Imperial Palace on Terra. This Xenos renowned for collecting even had Ultramarine squads from different eras, as well as human Custodian Guard specimens.
Naturally, no human besides Hades and Neos knew of this, just as no Necron besides Orikan knew that Trazyn had leaked Necron technology.
Each side took what it needed. They were cut from the same cloth.
