Ch. 41Xiao Tian's Sacrifice
Key plot points and events
- After escaping a battle, Gao Yang and Ning Rongrong discover that she is nearly three months pregnant. Their relief and joy quickly give way to fear: they are fugitives hunted by Spirit Hall, and a child could become a dangerous vulnerability.
- Ning Rongrong initially asks Gao Yang to end the pregnancy, but he urges her to trust him. They decide to keep the child, postponing her proper name until her Martial Soul Awakening: she will take Gao’s surname if she awakens the Seven Kill Sword, or Ning’s if she awakens the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.
- Their changed priorities make them fight less recklessly. Bibi Dong realizes they now have something to protect and eases the pursuit temporarily, waiting for the pregnancy to make them more vulnerable.
- As Ning Rongrong’s due date approaches, Spirit Hall tightens its encirclement. Bibi Dong and Golden Crocodile Douluo lead powerful forces, repeatedly intervening to prolong the fight and exhaust Gao Yang and his allies.
- Despite suffering severe losses, Gao Yang is badly wounded, Xiao Tian is near death, and the two leaders of Spirit Hall remain strong. After their daughter is born, the family and Xiao Tian fight their way out of a cave surrounded by enemies.
- The battle demonstrates the Seven Kill Sword’s power and forces Bibi Dong to reveal her Immortal Body. But as Bibi Dong’s fatal attack closes in, Xiao Tian sacrifices himself, using Soul Sacrifice to protect the others.
