Background / History

Freshman Assessment

Zhou Yi first appears supervising Shrek’s freshmen as they run around the square wearing heavy iron vests. Her hundred-lap assessment carries the threat of expulsion for anyone who fails to finish. Dongfang Hao watches from nearby and criticizes the exercise as dangerous for weaker students, including the struggling Huo Yuhao 27 28.

When the students become distracted by Dongfang Hao, Zhou Yi pressures them into continuing before confronting him as a trespasser. He rejects her authority because he is not her student. She responds by attempting to slap him, triggering his use of Spiritual Sharing and Spiritual Detection against her 28.

Confrontation and Mental Subjugation

Dongfang Hao breaches Zhou Yi’s spiritual defenses, forces an omnidirectional view into her mind, and exposes the face beneath her elderly disguise. He then uses penetrating vision to violate her privacy. When she attempts to retaliate, he freezes her Soul Power within her meridians and takes control of her movements while leaving her conscious of what is happening 28.

Under his control, Zhou Yi is forced to approach him and is struck twice on the backside. She conceals her distress by ordering the watching students back to class. Even after they leave, she continues resisting verbally, invoking Shrek Academy, the Sea God Pavilion elders, and her husband Fan Yu as threats 29.

Dongfang Hao subsequently invades her consciousness again and rewrites her memories, loyalties, and perceptions. Her resistance is replaced by imposed devotion to him, including willingness to betray Shrek or Fan Yu on his command. Covert Assignments

Dongfang Hao gives Zhou Yi a blackened piece of ten-thousand-year whale glue and orders her to deliver it privately to Huo Yuhao.
