The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well!
Tang Hao sank to his knees. He had guessed long ago that his son might very well not be his son.
What child never cried or fussed from infancy, then spent every day running to the mountain behind their home after turning three? Tang San had hidden away to cultivate in secret, thinking he had concealed himself well, but how could he possibly escape Tang Hao's eyes?
However listless Tang Hao was, however much he drank all day, he was still a Titled Douluo. None of Tang San's unusual behavior had escaped his notice.
"So... so it really was true!"
"I knew from the time he was little. Tang San's eyes never held a normal child's innocent bewilderment, only the calm and composure that came after careful deliberation."
"He was far too mature. Once he could take care of himself, I hardly bothered looking after him anymore."
"Until he awakened twin martial souls and let me see a hope of revenge..."
Tang Hao clenched his sole remaining hand into a fist, his eyes bloodshot as he panted like an ox and glared at the Sky Screen.
"I don't care whether he's my son. As long as he can avenge me, he's my own flesh and blood."
"You people of Spirit Hall, just you wait. Once my son achieves dual god fusion as the Sea God and the Asura God, he'll slaughter your Spirit Hall until not even a chicken or dog remains."
"When that time comes, surely the Clear Sky Sect will accept us father and son back into the sect."
"Xiao San, as long as you can avenge your mother and father and let your father return to the Clear Sky Sect, I don't care where you came from. You're my good son."
At his core, Tang Hao merely treated Tang San as a tool. Whether he acknowledged him depended entirely on whether he was useful. He simply had no idea that the Clear Sky Sect was already gone-the kind of gone where not even a chicken or dog remained.
Beside him, the swaying Blue Silver Emperor emitted a flickering blue halo. With her soul already awakened, she felt a profound chill.
The child she had given birth to was no longer her child. An Otherworldly Demon had infested him and seized his body.
For a mother, that wound was simply too deep.
Sea God Island!
On the shore of the ring-shaped lake!
Bo Saixi still wore her scarlet ceremonial robes. The sea breeze swept past, sending them fluttering as her gaze drifted into the distance and settled on Tang San, who was struggling within the Sea God's Light.
Tang San... so he isn't from our Douluo Continent. How could Lord Sea God choose someone like him as his successor?
After becoming a god on Sea God Island, he never thought of protecting it, instead casting it aside like a worn-out shoe. He wanted to protect his Shrek Academy, and I thought he felt a deep attachment to it.
So he merely wanted to use Shrek Academy to spread the Sea God's name and glory. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but what were those things he did?
The more he purged Evil Soul Masters, the more of them there were, forcing the common people living amid deep waters and scorching flames to believe in him, the Sea God.
Even if he cultivated his Sea God position to the level of God King, such unscrupulous methods were far too despicable.
Beside Bo Saixi stood Sea Dragon, Sea Spear, Sea Horse, Sea Maiden, Sea Ghost, Sea Star, and Sea Illusion-all seven guardian Douluos of the Sea God's Seven Sacred Pillars.
Disgust flashed through Sea Dragon's eyes. He was an upright, honorable man, and merely hearing about the things Tang San had done made him feel sick enough to vomit at such hypocrisy.
"High Priestess, must we really let Tang San become the Sea God?"
"Even if someone as vile and shameless as Tang San swears an oath, I still wouldn't believe he'll continue protecting Sea God Island after becoming the Sea God."
"What if, in the future... all the tens of thousands of residents on our Sea God Island are killed by the Demon Empress because of him?"
After Sea Dragon finished speaking, the other six guardian Douluos also looked toward Bo Saixi with hope in their eyes.
More than anything, they wanted to see Bo Saixi become the Sea God. As for that creature Tang San, they now despised him from the bottom of their hearts.
Bo Saixi sighed. She thought little of Tang San herself, but this was Poseidon's choice. More importantly, it involved Tang Chen.
"Sea Dragon, don't say such things again."
"Tang San is the person Lord Sea God chose. As Lord Sea God's followers, we must trust his judgment."
"None of you may deliberately increase the difficulty of your respective trials to make things hard for Tang San. That would be disrespectful to Lord Sea God."
The expressions of Sea Dragon and the others shifted slightly, but this was Bo Saixi's command. Reluctantly, they answered.
"As you command!"
Bo Saixi silently vowed, Tang Chen, I will make sure Tang San becomes the Sea God and goes to Slaughter City to rescue you.
The Douluo Continent's underlying code was still showing off.
The Love Continent was terrifying indeed.
Outside the Sea God's Light!
Tang San was panting with exhaustion, but even worn out like a dog, he still stared at the Sky Screen with bloodshot eyes, breathing like an ox.
"Damn you, Qian Renxue. Damn you, Xiao Ran. You've already chosen the path to your own deaths."
Tang San was undoubtedly terrified now. His greatest secret was that he was a transmigrator.
Now that secret had been announced to the entire continent.
What would his father think of him? What would his teacher think of him? Even Ning Rongrong, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun beside him now looked at him with something different in their eyes.
Tang San's long, sordid record was becoming too much for Ning Rongrong, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun to stomach.
Just for the Sea God's power of faith, he had actually allowed Evil Soul Masters to grow and flourish.
Didn't that mean Tang San was, in a sense, the forefather of the Evil Soul Masters?
Ning Rongrong bit her red lip with pearly teeth, then spoke against her true feelings with a radiant smile:
"Third Brother, no matter where you came from, we only know you as our Third Brother. We all believe in you. The Shrek Seven Devils are of one heart. Even if no one else believes you, we do."
Oscar echoed her words. They and Tang San were now grasshoppers tied to the same rope; none could leap away alone. Whatever they thought in private, they still had to flatter him when necessary.
"Exactly, Rongrong's right. We grew up together at Shrek Academy. Those memories we can never sever are medals of the Shrek Seven Devils sharing life and death."
"And we know better than anyone what kind of person you are."
"Pure as ice and jade, hating evil as your sworn enemy."
"A lot of what the Sky Screen says can't be taken as truth."
Ma Hongjun patted his big belly. "Third Brother, we recognize only you, no one else. For protecting Shrek Academy for tens of thousands of years alone, whatever you do, your brother will stand behind you."
"You kill, I'll set fires. You rob, I'll hand you the knife."
"Brotherhood lives in the heart."
"That's what loyalty means!"
Tang San swept his gaze over Ning Rongrong, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun, secretly breathing a sigh of relief. Thankfully, he still had good brothers who would never abandon him.
Unfortunately, Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing weren't here. He had no idea when he could return to the continent and reunite with Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing.
Tang San rolled his eyes at Ma Hongjun in exasperation.
"Fatty, Little Oscar's words are much easier on the ears. I'm pure as ice and jade, and I hate evil as my sworn enemy. How did I become a murderer and robber who commits every imaginable evil in your mouth?"
Ma Hongjun grinned and slapped his own mouth.
"Listen to this mouth of mine! But you get what I mean. Third Brother, your brothers will absolutely stand behind you."
Tang San clenched both fists, looking at Qian Renxue and Xiao Ran on the Sky Screen as he gritted his teeth.
"Come on. Let's keep cultivating in the Sea God's Light. Once I become a god, I'll destroy Spirit Hall. When Qian Renxue returns someday, she'll find nothing but corpses and ruins."
