Seeing Gu Yue in such a sorry state, Tang Wulin suddenly stepped forward.
The Golden Dragon King's blood and vital energy gathered in his palm, and the Golden Dragon Claw formed once more.
But before he could charge, Li Qingxun released the sword he had just drawn without hesitation.
The icy sword flew straight toward Tang Wulin's brow without slowing.
It moved at a terrifying speed.
The strike came so suddenly, so fast.
In an instant, Tang Wulin faced a deadly threat.
But Wu Changkong stood there, and he would never allow Tang Wulin to die.
He raised a hand lightly. A powerful surge of sword energy burst forth, shattering the snowy sword in an instant.
Tang Wulin stood rooted to the spot, gasping for breath.
In the second before the snowy sword was destroyed, he had truly felt the despair called death.
That sword had been absurdly fast. If it had come even two seconds sooner, or Wu Changkong had acted a little later,
the boy before him might really have killed him without mercy.
That ruthlessness and utter coldness had genuinely frightened Tang Wulin.
He had never seen anyone so vicious.
When he looked toward the boy, he saw him lift a foot and kick Gu Yue hard in the shoulder, sending her sprawling to the ground.
"You want to avenge Tang Wulin? Take a look at yourself first. Do you even have the strength? What makes you think you're fit to challenge me?"
Li Qingxun's voice was cold. On the ground, Gu Yue stared fixedly at him.
Hurt and anger flashed through her eyes, but Li Qingxun acted as though he hadn't seen it.
He turned to face Tang Wulin. Open disdain shone in his eyes.
"You provoked me first, attacked me again and again, and now you've egged Gu Yue on to challenge me."
"Tang Wulin, Tang Wulin. I thought you were a decent person. I never expected your intentions to be so vicious."
Li Qingxun spoke softly, but Tang Wulin's cheeks flushed scarlet at his words.
By now, Wu Changkong had no desire to keep arguing over the farce.
He stepped forward and gave a light cough. Everyone turned to look at him.
Wu Changkong looked at Tang Wulin and Gu Yue. "Wulin, you did provoke him first. You've admitted that yourself."
"After provoking him, saying all that was your fault."
"Starting tomorrow night, you'll do an extra hour of training every day for a week."
Wu Changkong turned to Gu Yue. "I don't object to you fighting. In my view, even provoking someone isn't that serious."
"But that last attack of yours was meant to kill. You went straight for his vitals."
"Apologize to him now. You'll also do an extra week of training."
Wu Changkong then looked at Li Qingxun.
The strength the boy had displayed had genuinely shocked him.
He knew the Heavenly Snow Woman Martial Soul was powerful, but he hadn't expected it to be this powerful.
As far as he could tell, Gu Yue had already kept much of her strength hidden.
Yet in a real fight, Li Qingxun had still defeated her with such ease.
Who knew what other trump cards the boy had hidden?
That snowy sword in particular was probably Li Qingxun's second Soul Skill.
Both the sword intent it carried and the realm it embodied were terrifying.
At the same age, Wu Changkong had possessed nothing like it.
More importantly, Li Qingxun had almost never provoked anyone, and he hadn't even attacked first.
So even though he had nearly gravely injured Gu Yue this time, she had no grounds to blame him.
Even Wu Changkong could only wave a hand at Li Qingxun. "You can head back. This matter no longer concerns you. Gu Yue will apologize to you now."
Wu Changkong looked back at Gu Yue. Her fists were clenched tight.
She glared darkly at Li Qingxun, but he merely raised an eyebrow at her anger.
He lifted his hand again, and nine snowy swords formed within it.
The nine swords circled him, unleashing an aura even more terrifying and powerful than before.
Even Gu Yue froze in disbelief at the sight of them.
She and Wu Changkong stared blankly at the nine swords.
A single sword had been terrifying enough, yet the boy could actually summon nine of them.
As the nine swords circled Li Qingxun, the threat was unmistakable.
Gu Yue fell silent for a moment. Her nails dug into her palms, but she lowered her head slightly and murmured, "I'm sorry."
After Gu Yue spoke, Li Qingxun did not look at her again.
The boy turned and left.
He had come quickly and left just as quickly.
Like an immortal banished to the mortal world yet untouched by it, he departed without a sound.
Watching Li Qingxun's retreating figure, Xie Xie glanced at Gu Yue and Tang Wulin.
Xie Xie could understand why his boss had taken a beating.
After all, Tang Wulin's current strength was merely decent, and he had only recently awakened the Golden Dragon Claw.
But seeing Gu Yue defeated so easily stunned Xie Xie.
Neither of them, however, seemed willing to say much about their defeats.
Wu Changkong gazed deeply at Li Qingxun's retreating figure, then turned to them with a stern expression.
"All three of you, come at me together. One hour of extra training."
"This isn't just training. It's a lesson for you."
"So I'll fight you with the cultivation of a four-ring soul master."
Li Qingxun opened the dorm room door and walked in. He took off his coat and sat on the sofa.
His expression barely changed, but thought flickered in his eyes. I arrived in this era a little too late. Gu Yue is already under Tang Wulin's influence.
Tang Wulin has to go. He's Tang San's son, which already makes him my enemy.
And he's the one carrying out Tang San's ten-thousand-year plan. Li Qingxun leaned back in his chair.
He rubbed his brow gently, weariness showing in his eyes.
He wasn't particularly interested in Gu Yue, though that wasn't to say he disliked her.
After all, anyone would be interested in a peerless beauty. But with Gu Yue concealing her looks, she appeared merely ordinary for now.
That alone made it hard for him to feel much interest. On top of that, Tang Wulin's influence over her had grown so deep that dealing with it would be troublesome.
The problem was that Gu Yue was still very useful to him.
He had no interest in the Dragon God's divine position.
After all, if he could fully restore the Fantasy Dragon's power, that would surely be the foundation of his future path.
He would forge a system utterly unlike anyone else's.
But if he could raise Gu Yue to become the Dragon God, it would help him greatly all the same.
Once he grew strong, he couldn't remain on Douluo Star at all times.
Li Qingxun had his sights set on the entire universe. Once he had the strength, he couldn't simply settle down somewhere.
He would venture out, and when he did, Douluo Star would need someone to guard it.
The Dragon God, with the combat power of a Supreme God King, would be just right.
And in opposing Tang San and handling everything else, another person who could help would naturally be welcome.
Looks like I need to prepare for both possibilities: either help Gu Yue break free of the influence her bloodline has on her now,
or find an opportunity to get rid of this so-called Silver Dragon King ahead of time.
