As the office door opened, Wu Changkong strode in first.
He stepped into the office, where three men and two women were waiting.
All five stood there in silence.
Their expressions were grim. The three men barely managed to suppress their anger as they sat in their chairs.
But the two women were already arguing with Long Hengxu. "What do you mean my son struck first? He was the one who attacked first!"
"And even if my son did strike first, did that give him the right to injure my son so badly?"
The woman's voice shook with anger.
Seeing the helpless look on Long Hengxu's face, she lunged before he could react and raked her nails across his cheek.
Long Hengxu was startled by her sudden move.
He shoved her away on instinct and covered his scratched face, his expression darkening.
"Your son was the one who started provoking him. The other boy was only defending himself."
"Your son launched a sneak attack and still ended up like this. We even have the footage!"
"No matter how you look at it, your son was the one who provoked him first!"
Long Hengxu kept his voice as restrained as he could. He truly did not know what to do with a woman like her.
But the woman did not care what he said. All she knew was that her son had been badly hurt and would need a long time to recover.
The other woman stepped forward as well, fixing Long Hengxu with a stare. "It happened at your school, so your school should take responsibility."
"Bring that boy in here. I want to see which little bastard dared hurt my son!"
She glared fiercely at Long Hengxu as she spoke. Just then, Wu Changkong opened the door and walked in.
The two women glanced at the handsome, refined Wu Changkong and lost themselves for an instant. Then their faces turned dark again.
Wu Changkong's expression did not change beneath their hostile stares.
He looked silently behind him, and Li Qingxun stepped inside.
Li Qingxun saw the five people waiting there.
At the sight of him, one of the three men shot to his feet.
He stared at Li Qingxun, a flash of killing intent in his eyes. "You're the one who hurt my son and punched straight through his abdomen!"
"Do you have any idea how serious his injuries are?"
"It'll take the two of them at least three or four months to recover. You've practically ruined their futures!"
The man let out a low shout. A massive blue eagle slowly appeared behind him.
The eagle beat its wings as the man glared viciously at Li Qingxun.
Li Qingxun's expression barely changed at the sight of the man's Martial Soul.
He simply stood there in silence.
When Li Qingxun said nothing, the man took it as an admission of guilt.
He took two steps forward and turned to Wu Changkong.
"As his teacher, and as the school, you're both responsible.
"So both the school and this student must apologize to us and compensate us for our losses!"
The man swept an angry glare across the three of them.
Wu Changkong, who had not spoken a word, regarded him coldly.
"I'll only say this once. Wei Xiaofeng provoked my student and attacked him from the shadows."
"Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi ignored their own classmate and helped Wei Xiaofeng instead. The three of them ganged up on him, used a Martial Soul Fusion Skill, and struck to kill."
"Li Qingxun defeated all three of them on his own. Tell me, what gives you the right to blame this child?"
Wu Changkong held the man's gaze as he spoke. He stood much taller than the middle-aged man.
Looking down at him now, Wu Changkong seemed to press down on him by sheer presence alone.
But the man clearly did not care what Wu Changkong said. He gave a cold snort and reached straight past him toward Li Qingxun.
"I don't care. I'm taking him to the police station first. The City Police should decide how to handle this, not you!"
He grabbed at Li Qingxun, powerful Soul Power gathering in his palm.
That grab was clearly meant not to take Li Qingxun away, but to cripple him on the spot.
A faint smile tugged at Li Qingxun's lips as the hand came toward him.
Just as he was about to raise his own hand, a chilling sword light descended.
The terrifying cold came so fast that by the time the man reacted, his arm had already been severed.
Before blood could spray from the wound, it froze solid.
Wu Changkong raised his leg and kicked the middle-aged man to the floor.
The other two middle-aged men sprang to their feet at Wu Changkong's sudden attack, revealing three rings and four rings of cultivation respectively.
In the next instant, an overwhelming pressure erupted from Wu Changkong. The aura of a Soul Emperor bore down on them.
The three parents were pinned in place before they had any chance to resist.
Their eyes filled with horror as they felt the Soul Emperor aura radiating from Wu Changkong.
Wu Changkong looked not even thirty years old.
Yet the strength he displayed was terrifying.
The two women who had been shouting moments earlier froze where they stood, their eyes full of fear.
"I'll say this one last time. Get out, now. The three of them will be expelled from the school."
"I don't care where you send them to study, but don't come back here looking for trouble."
"If there's a next time, I won't hesitate to cripple you." Wu Changkong's face was already cold; his words cut like ice.
The parents who had been jeering and sneering moments ago shrank back at once.
This was a world ruled by Soul Masters, not the world Li Qingxun had known in his previous life.
Back there, such tactics might have worked against meek parents and schools.
But in this world, the one with strength had the final say.
No one here played along with empty threats.
They could tell Wu Changkong meant every word. His killing intent surged, and the scent of blood clung thickly to him.
The parents exchanged glances and lost their nerve almost instantly.
This young teacher had undoubtedly killed before. More than one life had likely ended at his hands.
That thought sent them into a panic.
The middle-aged man who had revealed his strength but stayed in place stood up.
He bowed respectfully to Wu Changkong, then fled.
The other two couples helped each other up and hurried out the door in disarray, not daring to look back.
Once they were gone, Wu Changkong slowly put away the Frost Sword.
His aura subsided. He watched the five of them leave, a flicker of killing intent passing through his eyes.
But after a moment's silence, he remembered who he was and said nothing more.
He merely waved to Long Hengxu, then took Li Qingxun out of the office.
