The walk lasted about twenty minutes. Ding Xueyang felt a little tired, so she went upstairs with Shi Pingchuan.

Back home, Shi Pingchuan began packing his luggage. He was taking the eleven o'clock train tonight to Songxueyuan, staying overnight near the airport, then catching the nine o'clock flight tomorrow morning. This business trip would last three days, as usual, to some city in the south.

"Is Miaomiao coming back tomorrow?" Ding Xueyang asked.

"Mm. My mom will have the driver take her home. Just wait for her at home."

Ding Xueyang nodded. "Did your mom tell you that she doesn't want Miaomiao to change her surname?"

Shi Pingchuan stopped what he was doing and abruptly stood up. "Who ran their mouth to my mom? What did she say?"

"Don't get worked up. Miaomiao mentioned it while talking to your mother, said her grandfather wanted her to take the Ding surname." Ding Xueyang looked up. "Your mom said she wanted Miaomiao to keep the Shi surname. Didn't my dad want to give us that little apartment in Songxueyuan? Your mother said that after some time, she'd directly transfer that detached villa by Jian'an Lake in Pingjing into Miaomiao's name."

The muscles in Shi Pingchuan's face twitched twice. "...She said that to you herself?"

"Yes." Ding Xueyang looked at her husband. "She didn't tell you?"

"Transfer it to Miaomiao's name, or to ours? Miaomiao's still just a child!"

"It doesn't matter that she's a child. Minors can receive gifted property too; we just need to handle the transfer procedures as her legal representatives."

Shi Pingchuan pinched the bridge of his nose. "...Fine. Leave the paperwork to me. I'll handle this afterward."

"No need. Your mother already sent the notarized documents to my phone this afternoon." Ding Xueyang spoke softly. "She wants us
