There were six of them, ranging from twenty to twenty-seven years old.
Two were level fifty-nine Soul Kings, two were level sixty Quasi-Soul Emperors, one was a level sixty-nine Soul Emperor, and one was a Quasi-Soul Saint.
They had been told to keep today's events secret, but nothing else had been revealed.
Puzzled, the six traveled from Sea God Island to the Outer Court's Spirit Arena. They entered the Beast Pen and found Yan Shaozhe and Gong Changlong in a huge, brightly lit room that had been prepared for the occasion.
After they greeted the two men, Yan Shaozhe explained that they would be taking part in an experiment.
The experiment resembled obtaining a Soul Ring. In theory, it was quite safe and would increase their individual strength.
But the Soul Beasts providing the Soul Rings possessed elemental attributes of varying quality, most of them primarily Ice Element.
Although half the disciples present had been chosen because their Martial Souls would not reject such elements, these were not their best choices.
If they went Soul Hunting, they might find a Soul Beast with a compatibility score above ninety. For some of them, the Soul Beasts here would only reach eighty, effectively lowering their potential ceiling.
"This concerns your future. If you're unwilling, you can withdraw now. But you must keep it secret."
