After speaking, Li Qingyue made a point of giving Zhang Yangzi a solemn nod, his face wearing a gentle, utterly harmless expression.
Under normal circumstances, if someone that good-looking had nodded at him on the street, Zhang Yangzi might even have politely nodded back.
But this person had just punched him in the face, knocking his nose crooked and even fracturing it.
Now that his face had been restored, seeing that same smile again only sent a chill down Zhang Yangzi's spine.
Li Qingyue saw Zhang Yangzi trembling slightly but paid it no mind. His expression unchanged, he continued.
"Oh, right. You two smashed through this wall. It has nothing to do with me."
"I'm just a weak, pitiful, helpless healing-type Soul Master, so you two will have to pay for it."
After speaking, Li Qingyue pointed to the two new human-shaped holes on his side of the wall.
Then he pointed to the holes Wang Jinxi and the sinister-looking boy had made over there.
Zhang Yangzi followed his finger and couldn't stop the corner of his mouth from twitching.
"Wait, what does that have to do with us?"
"You're the one who hit us and sent us flying!"
"Sure, we provoked you first, but that's not how you assign blame! Why should we take full responsibility?"
Zhang Yangzi still looked unconvinced as he spoke. He acknowledged the boy's strength, but a boy his age wasn't going to be beaten into submission after just one encounter.
Li Qingyue said nothing. He merely nodded calmly.
"Then I'll pay this time. But will you two help me test my healing ability every day?"
Li Qingyue looked straight at Zhang Yangzi, speaking with complete seriousness. He couldn't be bothered to keep arguing.
At his words, Zhang Yangzi remembered the terrifying sight of him gravely injuring both of them with a single punch. His mouth opened, then closed.
"Wait, why should we help you test your healing ability?"
"And we can just split the responsibility fairly. We should definitely pay the bigger share, but you ought to contribute something too, right?"
"Three."
"Wait, what are you doing?"
"Two."
"You really think I'm afraid of you?"
"We've still got trump cards up our sleeves! If we use our second Soul Skills, you might not be able to beat us."
"One."
"..."
"I-I-I'll contact a teacher and pay! We'll cover the whole thing! Could you just leave now, bro?"
"I know I was wrong. I'll take Wang Jinxi to the infirmary now. His injuries might take a while."
As Zhang Yangzi spoke, even he began to feel a little aggrieved.
Li Qingyue only smiled at him. Picking a fight and then refusing to take responsibility—where in the world did things work that way?
Watching Li Qingyue squeeze back through the gap in the wall, Zhang Yangzi sighed.
He had barely turned toward his good friend when he saw Wang Jinxi open his eyes and give him an awkward smile.
Seeing that his friend was already awake, Zhang Yangzi glared at him. Still, there was little he could do about Wang Jinxi playing dumb.
Of course, if their positions had been reversed and Wang Jinxi had been the one facing that terrifying, overbearing boy while Zhang Yangzi had to speak up...
Zhang Yangzi figured he would have played dead too.
Even so, he held up three fingers at Wang Jinxi.
Wang Jinxi fell silent for a moment, sighed, then nodded.
"Three meals, then. But we agreed on three extra meals—no more than that."
"Nothing's even happened yet, and we're already out tens of thousands. My allowance might not last the month."
Wang Jinxi sighed again. He had wanted to throw his weight around a little.
With his cultivation as a Soul Grandmaster, he had come to push the newcomers around. Who knew he would run into a Little Monster like this?
The thought made Wang Jinxi miserable.
The two of them were probably among the strongest in all of Class One, yet they had still run into a monster like that.
As Zhang Yangzi had said, they hadn't used their Soul Skills. But neither had their opponent, and his healing ability was terrifying on top of that.
Even if their Soul Skills were stronger than his, what were they supposed to do if he cast a healing blessing on himself halfway through the fight?
Whether they could overwhelm him in one blow later on remained to be seen, but at this stage—or rather, in the early stages—
Support Soul Masters were absolutely capable of turning the tables, especially those who could heal quickly.
With a Support Soul Master like that around, the two of them might not even beat him and Xie Xie working together. Never mind anything else.
So Wang Jinxi gave up trying.
Meanwhile, when Li Qingyue returned, he found Xie Xie already making the beds.
The dorm room had two bunks on each side. Xie Xie had finished making his own lower bunk and was now working on Li Qingyue's.
Li Qingyue blinked at the new bedsheet he had taken out. He really hadn't bought one, planning instead to use the standard-issue sheets from the academy.
Since Xie Xie had bought one for him, all the better. One look told him it was much better quality than anything he would have collected from the academy.
"Thanks, Xie Xie. You finish the bed while I clean up, and then we'll go have lunch. I can introduce you to two upperclasswomen while we're at it."
Li Qingyue smiled at him as he spoke.
Xie Xie blinked, staring at Li Qingyue in disbelief.
"Wait, Qingyue, you've only just arrived at Eastsea Academy and you already know an upperclasswoman?"
"Is it the one who came with you?"
"She's really pretty."
There was some envy in Xie Xie's voice, but even more resignation.
With Li Qingyue's looks, he was hardly going to lack friends—or people who liked him—in the future.
Seeing Xie Xie's speechless expression, Li Qingyue rolled his eyes at him.
"Come on, you're a grown man. Quit dawdling and get your things ready. I'm cleaning the floor."
He picked up the broom and started sweeping without another word.
Xie Xie kept making Li Qingyue's bed. Once both lower bunks were done, he helped mop the floor as well.
Only after they had tidied most of the dorm did the two of them leave together.
Once they were gone, Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi cautiously poked their heads through the gap in the wall.
After confirming no one was there, they crept back into the dorm and began making their upper bunks.
By then, everyone had gathered around a table in the cafeteria.
Li Qingyue had gone to get the food. He was treating everyone to a Class A meal, and at a thousand apiece, the cost for so many people was no small sum.
But no one at the table was short of money. Both Mu Xi and Ouyang Zixin came from well-off families.
Xie Xie went without saying. He was the young master of the Xie Family.
For them, a Class A meal was nothing out of the ordinary.
Still, eating with Li Qingyue—or simply eating together as a group—made it feel lively.
Looking at the boy Li Qingyue had brought along, who was just as strikingly good-looking, Ouyang Zixin couldn't help marveling.
The sheer number of good-looking people gathered at their table was almost absurd.
Quite a few parents couldn't resist coming closer to look.
As Ouyang Zixin glanced around, however, her expression suddenly changed.
Right behind her, she spotted a blue-haired young man sitting with a young woman. The two were bickering.
From the way they acted, they seemed very close.
