Background and History
Tang Sanmei was an outer disciple of the Bashu Tang Sect in her previous life. After secretly learning its inner-sect arts, she leaped from a cliff and was reborn as Tang Hao’s daughter in Holy Soul Village. Her father wanted to name her Tang San, but the villagers added a character to make the name sound feminine. Believing that the sect’s legacy must pass through a male heir, she considered herself unfit to restore it 1 2 3.
She found the injured Huo Yuhao in the rain and recognized the Mysterious Heaven Skill circulating through his body. Mistaking him for a fellow Tang Sect disciple and its long-awaited heir, she persuaded Tang Hao to bring him home. Yuhao accepted the senior-disciple role she offered him, and Sanmei began treating him as her sect master, following his cultivation advice and caring for him despite her father’s objections 1 2 3 4 5.
At Yuhao’s direction, she obtained a Blue Silver Grass Soul Ring built around rapid regrowth rather than direct damage. After years of training alongside Yuhao and Xiao Wu in Nuoding City, she traveled with them to Heaven Dou City. There she met her aunt Tang Yuehua, gained admission to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, and helped identify and collect medicinal treasures at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 19 21 23 32 33 38 39.
Appearance
As a young child, Sanmei is slight, with delicate features, gentle eyes, and shoulder-length blue hair. At around twelve, she is described with delicate features and black hair tied in a neat ponytail 1 23.
- Her eyes can flash purple when she prepares to use a Tang Sect technique 4 7.
- Her hands take on a white-jade sheen when she uses Mysterious Jade Hand 12 24.
Personality
Sanmei is caring and attentive: she shelters Yuhao when they first meet, tends his injuries, cooks for him, and continues looking after him as they grow older. Her devotion is rooted in her belief that he can carry on the Tang Sect; she repeatedly defends him from insults and threats, even when doing so puts her at odds with Tang Hao 1 2 8 12 18 23.
She is composed and adaptable in combat, but her view of sect duty can be extreme. She offers to sacrifice herself for Yuhao and later tries to arrange Dugu Yan as his concubine to continue the sect’s bloodline—an idea Yuhao rejects 24 31 38.
Abilities and Skills
Twin Martial Souls and Soul Skills
- Blue Silver Grass — Her visible Martial Soul. Its first Soul Ring comes from a four-hundred-year Blue Silver Grass; its second and third skills are demonstrated by the time she reaches Soul Elder 6 20 21 24.
- Hidden black hammer — Appeared in her left hand during awakening, but she suppressed it on Tang Hao’s instructions 6.
- Everlasting Life — Her first Soul Skill spreads large quantities of Blue Silver Grass across the ground. The blades break easily, but regrow quickly at low Soul Power cost, allowing her to restrain and exhaust opponents 21 22 26.
- Parasitism — Her second Soul Skill causes Blue Silver spores on a target to sprout into binding vines 24 26.
- Absorption — Her third Soul Skill drains Soul Power and stamina through grass touching or parasitizing an enemy, returning them to Sanmei. Powerful flames can burn the vines away 24.
Tang Sect Arts
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — Her internal cultivation technique. She uses it with her Blue Silver Grass to absorb the origin of the plant that becomes her first Soul Ring 5 20 21.

Relationships
