Ch. 141The Butterfly God's Divine Seat, Martial Soul Conflict
Chapter Summary
- Xuan Zi pursues Wang Dong, driven by his ability to sense the complete Godhood Inheritance sealed in her soul. He hopes to devour it and advance toward godhood. Tang San, who is controlling Wang Dong’s body, mistakenly believes Xuan Zi is after him and the Sea God’s power he left behind.
- Tang San recklessly uses that power to flee, worsening Wang Dong’s already critical soul damage. If her soul collapses, even Tang San may not be able to restore her as herself. He presses on toward the Clear Sky Sect, hoping Da Ming and Er Ming can help, but Xuan Zi catches up and grabs her.
- Xuan Zi begins devouring Wang Dong’s power and Divine Seat. Golden light from within her briefly resists him, revealing the Butterfly God’s Divine Seat Origin. Huang Jinxu identifies it as a potential path to godhood and tries to provoke Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui into joining the struggle.
- Long Xiaoyao refuses, recognizing both the danger and Huang Jinxu’s attempt to manipulate them. He also doubts the inheritance would suit them or safely lead to godhood. Huang Jinxu’s real hope is that Ye Xishui will be tempted.
- Huang Jinxu sees the Divine Seat as especially relevant to Ye Xishui because it could help her resolve the conflict between her opposing Twin Martial Souls. He outlines three possible solutions: achieve Yin-Yang balance through the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, master Rules to suppress the conflict, or use Divine Power.
Character Developments and Interactions
- Tang San becomes increasingly desperate and single-minded, prioritizing escape over Wang Dong’s wellbeing.
- Xuan Zi is consumed by ambition, risking catastrophic consequences in pursuit of divine power.
- Huang Jinxu acts as a calculating instigator, hoping to draw Ye Xishui into the fight rather than risking himself.
- Long Xiaoyao demonstrates caution and distrust, directly challenging Huang Jinxu’s motives.
- Ye Xishui is positioned as the likely next participant: her desire to solve her Martial Soul conflict may outweigh the obvious risks.
Significant Themes
- Ambition and temptation: the possibility of godhood pushes powerful characters toward reckless choices.
- The cost of power: Tang San’s attempt to preserve himself endangers Wang Dong’s identity and soul.
- Risk versus restraint: Long Xiaoyao’s caution contrasts with Xuan Zi’s greed and the potential recklessness of Ye Xishui.
- Conflict and balance: Ye Xishui’s Martial Soul problem echoes the chapter’s broader struggle between opposing powers.
