Background / History

Lu Yao grew up in the heart of the Clouded Deer clan’s territory. Her father, whom she remembers as the forest’s strongest stag, was killed by human Soul Masters the year before she met Xiao Shenghe. Her mother made her an antler comb from his antler 15 25.

When Spirit Hall attacked her wounded mother, Lu Yao rushed to protect her despite being told to flee. Shanyue targeted the child, but Shenghe intervened with a Magma Stone Wall, supported by Chen Xin and Gu Rong 13.

After the rescue, Lu Yao admired Shenghe’s flames and told her clansfolk that he and the two Douluo had saved her family. Her testimony helped the visitors gain acceptance in Spirit Creek Valley 15.

With her mother’s permission, she offered to become Shenghe’s Soul Ring through the clan’s Secret of Symbiosis. His immediate refusal came from fear that she would sacrifice herself. The clan explained the proposed bond as an alternative to its confinement and mortality, rather than an ordinary Soul Beast hunt 16.
